Electricity generation fully meets needs of consumers - Ukrenergo
Ukraine's power system is operating stably, with enough electricity for consumption despite several power units being out of service.
According to Ukrinform, NPC Ukrenergo reported this on Facebook.
"As of today, April 26, electricity production is sufficient to cover consumption. The floods are still ongoing. Hydroelectric power plants continue to operate not only to cover consumption peaks in the morning and evening, but also throughout the day," the statement said.
The power plants have started the annual repair campaign, which is mandatory to prepare for the winter period. The outage of several power units is compensated by the active operation of hydroelectric power plants and renewable energy sources, Ukrenergo noted.
As reported, Ukrenergo's repair teams are working at all high-voltage network facilities that have been subjected to Russian attacks. The priority is to restore power supply reliability. In particular, emergency repair works were carried out and equipment was partially restored at one of the substations in the east of the country, which was attacked by Russian missiles and drones more than 5 times.
The power system has suffered unprecedented damage. It still takes a lot of resources and time to restore the level of reliability that existed before the massive shelling, the energy company emphasizes.
