Ukraine exports over 42.4M t of grains, pulses

In the current marketing year (MY) (from July 1, 2022, to May 5, 2023), Ukraine exported 42.477 million tonnes of grains and legumes.

According to Ukrinform, Ukraine’s Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reported this.

It is noted that in 2022/2023 MY Ukraine exported 14.571 million tonnes of wheat, 2.474 million tonnes of barley, 17,900 tonnes of rye, and 25.106 million tonnes of corn.

For comparison, from July 2021 to May 11, 2022, Ukraine exported 46.168 million tonnes of grains and pulses, including 18.532 million tonnes of wheat, 5.676 million tonnes of barley, 161,900 tonnes of rye, and 21.495 million tonnes of corn.

In the first five days of May this year, Ukraine exported 590,000 tonnes of grains and legumes (299,000 tonnes in the first 11 days of May last year), including 172,000 tonnes of wheat (6,000 tonnes in April last year), 9,000 tonnes of barley (8,000 tonnes in April last year) and 408,000 tonnes of corn (284,000 tonnes in April last year). In May this year and in May last year, Ukraine did not export rye.

Since the start of 2022/2023 MY, Ukraine has exported 130,100 tonnes of flour (70,100 tonnes in 2021/2022 MY).

As Ukrinform reported, in April 2023, Ukraine exported 3.9 million tonnes of grains (59% of corn, 36% of wheat, and 5% of barley). This is 31% less than in March this year.
