Cabinet of Ministers invites Bahrain to join post-war reconstruction of Ukraine
The Cabinet of Ministers has invited Bahrain to take part in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine and offered Bahraini business representatives to invest in the Ukrainian economy and implement joint projects.
According to Ukrinform, this issue was discussed at a meeting between Ukraine's First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko and Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Ukrainian Economy Ministry reported.
"Although the war is still going on, the government is focused on post-war reconstruction. In particular, the focus is on the development of the energy sector, agriculture, the defense industry and digitalization," Svyrydenko said.
She invited Bahraini business representatives to consider participating in investment projects, including in the large-scale privatization that will begin in Ukraine in the near future. Aluminum production is a promising sector for Bahrain. The Ukrainian side presented the possibilities of the Diia state digital services website and offered the Bahraini government cooperation in the development of a similar digital service and further cooperation in the field of IT.
In addition, the Bahraini side was invited to participate in the Ukraine Recovery Conference that will be held in London in June 2023.
Bahrain's foreign minister, in turn, praised the prospects for the development of mutual relations between the two countries. He recognized the potential for cooperation in the field of digital technologies, especially in the creation and use of artificial intelligence, both at the government level and in the business sphere, as well as the establishment of cultural ties between the citizens of both countries.
