Energoatom refutes Russia’s claims of all power units shut down at Zaporizhzhia NPP
The statements by pro-Russian propagandist resources about the shutdown of all power units at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) are false. There have been no changes in the plant’s performance.
The relevant statement was made by Energoatom National Nuclear Energy Generating Company on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“The statements by pro-Russian propagandist media resources about the full shutdown of Zaporizhzhia NPP contradict the reality,” the report states.
As of May 6, 2023, no changes were detected in the operation of Zaporizhzhia NPP, which had been seized by Russian occupiers.
Zaporizhzhia NPP does not generate electricity but continues using that from Ukraine’s energy system to meet its own needs. Five power units of Zaporizhzhia NPP have been put in cold shutdown so far, while power unit 5 is remaining in hot shutdown mode.
A reminder that earlier Russian occupiers announced the shutdown of all power units at Zaporizhzhia NPP.
