"I am grateful to the head and team of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office for their cooperation, which promotes the development of the UAVs sector and supports the Armed Forces of Ukraine. For UAH 650 million, received due to the SAPO work, hundreds of drones were purchased for the Armed Forces and GUR, as well as a significant number of IFV-2 for the Offensive Guard brigades. This is a powerful contribution to the preservation of lives of our military personnel," stressed Deputy Prime Minister for Innovations, Development of Education, Science and Technologies – Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov
It is noted that due to the Army of Drones project, which was launched as part of UNITED24, 3,864 reconnaissance and attack UAVs were contracted. More than 10,000 military personnel have undergone relevant training. Normative and regulatory conditions were created for the development of the domestic UAV market.
As reported, the Army of Drones project, initiated by the General Staff of the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Digital Transformation, is a comprehensive program that envisages the systematic purchase of drones, their repair, as well as training of relevant specialists. The project was launched on July 1, 2022.
On April 24, 100 kamikaze drones, purchased for funds raised through UNITED24, were sent to Ukrainian soldiers in the Bakhmut sector.
