Zelensky enforces sanctions against 178 persons - decree
President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine has put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to apply personal sanctions against 178 persons.
The corresponding decree (No. 321/2023) was published on the president’s website, Ukrinform saw.
"The decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of June 11, 2023 ‘On the application and introduction of updates to personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions) shall be implemented," the decree reads.
The decision of the National Security and Defense Council notes that proposals to introduce sanctions were put forward by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
The restrictions were introduced for five years.
Sanctions were applied against Russian 178 citizens, but 81 persons from the list also have Ukrainian citizenship.
