Ukraine's govt allocates over UAH 550B for security and defense in Jan-May - PM
The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated more than UAH 550 billion for Ukraine's security and defense forces over the first five months of this year.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
"Over the first five months of this year, the government allocated more than UAH 550 billion for the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine. This is 49% of all budget expenditures during this time. We continue to direct all the taxes of citizens and businesses to finance the army in order to ensure our victory," he said.
He also noted that work was underway to tackle the aftermath of a Russian terrorist attack at the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant.
"This week, I discussed the situation around the Kakhovka HPP with the prime ministers of Poland, Denmark, and Belgium, as well as with the vice chancellor of Germany. We are mobilizing the support of partners," Shmyhal said.
Early on June 6, the Russian army blew up the dam of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant.
