"Rosatom" finally stops its activities in Czech Republic
More than a year after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Russian state corporation "Rosatom" has finally ceased its activities in the Czech Republic.
That's according to Radio Prague International, Ukrinform reports.
The local branch of the company is now excluded from the commercial register, all its employees have resigned earlier. The communication agency that worked for "Rosatom" also stopped its activities, leaving behind debts.
Earlier, "Rosatom" applied for a tender to build a new power unit at the Czech Dukovany NPP, but the Czech government excluded the Russian concern from the tender after the Russian GRU's role in the explosion of ammunition depots in Vrbětice was revealed.
Until now, the Czech Republic was the site of the Hungarian subsidiary, which has recently functioned as the company's center in Central Europe.
As Ukrinform reported, earlier Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda called on the European Union to develop the next package of sanctions against Russia, which, in his opinion, should include the Russian state corporation "Rosatom".
