Government disburses more than ₴4B to overcome Kakhovka HPP explosion consequences
The Cabinet of Ministers has already disbursed over UAH 4 billion to overcome the consequences of the terrorist attack at the Kakhovka HPP committed by the Russians.
"In general, the Government has disbursed more than UAH 4 billion to overcome the consequences of the terrorist attack. These are funds for transporting drinking water, rebuilding facilities, and paying one-time aid to victims," Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said at the Cabinet’s meeting, Ukrinform reports.
According to him, the Government allocated UAH 1.5 billion from the Liquidation Fund for the construction of water mains immediately after the Russians blew up the Kakhovka HPP dam. Works have already started.
A total of 2,300 applications for assistance have already been submitted, of which almost 1,000 have been approved for payment. The corresponding funds have been transferred to the settlements, and the local authorities should make these payments within the next two days.
On the night of June 6, the Russian army blew up the Kakhovka HPP dam, which resulted in flooding of parts of Kherson and Mykolaiv regions and, at the same time, the critical shallowing of the Kakhovka reservoir.
