French state bank plans to insure its business in Ukraine’s Chernihiv region

The State Investment Bank of France is ready to provide insurance guarantees to its businesses operating in Ukraine’s Chernihiv region.

Pierre Heilbronn, French President's Special Envoy for Aid and Reconstruction in Ukraine, said this at a meeting with acting Chernihiv Mayor Oleksandr Lomako, Chernihiv City Council reports, Ukrinform states.

He stated that the French state investment bank is ready to provide insurance guarantees to its businesses operating in Chernihiv region.

Lomako noted that this is a great initiative. The state should take on the function of insuring businesses that are being restored in the territories bordering or adjacent to Russia.

"Otherwise, no one will take risks and invest here. I think that if France is the first to do this, other countries, including Ukraine, will follow suit," Lomako said.

As a result of the meeting, authorized representatives from Chernihiv's local government will be appointed to continue working with the French side and prepare specific projects that can be implemented jointly.

As Ukrinform reported, Chernihiv region received six temporary bridges from the French government to help with logistics in the region.
