Ukraine could resume electricity trade with Romania
The National Energy and Utility Regulation Commission (NEURC) agreed on the procedure for the distribution of revenues from the management of restrictions between operators of the transmission systems of Ukraine and Romania.
This was reported by the agency press service, Ukrinform saw.
"At its meeting on July 26, 2023, the NEURC agreed on the procedure for the distribution of revenues from the management of restrictions between operators of the transmission systems of Ukraine and Romania, provided by NEC Ukrenergo. According to the terms of the draft agreement between the operators of the distribution systems of the two countries, it is assumed that the income (before VAT) from the management of restrictions on the border between Ukraine and Romania shall be distributed between NEC Ukrenergo and C.N.T.E.E. Transelectrica S.A. at 50% to 50%," the statement reads.
It is noted that the adopted decision will allow for regulating export-import transactions involving electric energy through the cross-border flow between Ukraine and Romania and will help stabilize the energy system by creating conditions for the import of electricity from Romania in deficit hours of the day and export to Romania in hours where a surplus electrical energy is observed.
As reported, on July 12, 2023, the Regulator agreed on the procedure for the distribution of revenues from restriction management between transmission system operators of Ukraine, NEC Ukrenergo, and Slovakia's SEPS.
