Ukraine proposes to gradually impose sanctions against Rosatom.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said this at a conference of Ukrainian ambassadors, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"We propose to do this in several stages. The first stage is to impose personal sanctions on representatives of Rosatom. The second stage is to impose partial sanctions on the supply of Russian nuclear fuel and Russian technologies. For example, to introduce a 50% quota by 2025. Then, starting on 2025 or 2026, to impose 100% sanctions on the supply of Russian nuclear technology and Russian nuclear fuel. Such steps will be perceived much easier than the inflexible and rigid approach of introducing everything," Shmyhal said.

According to him, Russian metallurgy, diamonds, and the price cap on gas and oil should not be ignored by the sanctions pressure.

"Sanctions are no less important tool than weapons. Unfortunately, today we see that Russia is adapting to the sanctions. They are finding ways to get high-tech products for their weapons. Unfortunately, they do not respond to warnings against nuclear blackmail," the Prime Minister stated.

The Prime Minister drew attention to the fact that recently, the wreckage of missiles and drones found in Ukraine contained parts made from high-tech components from almost 50 countries, including the G7 countries. These components were supplied in 2022 and 2023 despite the sanctions. The lists of manufacturers are available. Diplomats should pay attention to them.

As reported, Ukraine is constantly calling on its partners to strengthen sanctions against Russia to weaken the aggressor's ability to wage a full-scale war.
