Almost 14 bcm of gas pumped into underground storage facilities – Chernyshov
Ukraine has pumped almost 14 billion cubic meters of gas into its underground storage facilities.
Oleksiy Chernyshov, Chairman of the Board at NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, announced this on the air of the United News telethon, Ukrinform reports.
"14.7 billion cubic meters is the goal of injecting natural gas into Ukraine's gas storage facilities. According to calculations, this is enough under various scenarios, including the provision of an additional volume of gas for electricity generation," said Chernyshov.
The head of Naftogaz also reminded that the price of “blue fuel” for the population for the heating season is set at the level of the previous season - UAH 7.96 per cubic meter. In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers extended PSO [Public Service Obligations] on gas for heat producers.
As reported, heat producers who receive gas within the limits of the special duties assigned to Naftogaz of Ukraine will be able to use the fuel volumes saved for the month in the following periods of the heating season.
The Cabinet of Ministers extended the special duties on the supply of gas to heat energy producers and budget institutions until April 15, 2024. Thus, conditions will be created to keep the current tariffs for heating for households that will not be raised until the end of martial law.
