Ukrenergo to launch joint auctions for crossing with Romania in November

The National Energy Company Ukrenergo and the Romanian transmission system operator Transelectrica will hold the first joint auction for the sale of access to the interstate crossing on November 2.

"Ukraine is switching to uniform European rules for access to interstate lines for electricity exporters and importers. We signed a relevant agreement with the Romanian operator Transelectrica. The first auction for the sale of access to interstate crossing between Ukraine and Romania in the new format will take place on November 2," Chairman of the Board of Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytskyi posted on Facebook.

The auction will be held for the delivery day, November 3.

In addition, Ukrenergo already signed agreements with transmission system operators of Hungary, Slovakia and Poland to join the pan-European JAO auction platform. After receiving approval from the regulators of neighboring countries, Ukraine will be able to start joint auctions in all European directions.
