Finland one of biggest EU donors of assistance to Ukraine's energy sector - minister
Helsinki is one of the biggest EU donors of assistance to Ukraine's energy sector in terms of countering Russian aggression.
Finland's Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio said this in an interview with Ukrinform.
According to the minister, Finland strongly condemns Russia's missile attacks against civilian targets, including Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
"Deliberate bombing of civilian targets is a war crime. We urge Russia to end its campaign of destruction," Tavio said.
He noted that Finland is one of the biggest EU donors of energy sector materiel, such as generators and transformers, to Ukraine. Many Finnish companies in the energy sector travelled to Warsaw as they are interested in participating in the long-term development of the energy infrastructure in Ukraine.
He said that Finland had provided Ukraine with more than 280 truckloads of in-kind assistance through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.
"Energy sector supplies are one of the largest categories of assistance provided, and currently there are several energy sector assistance packages at different stages of the process," Tavio said.
