Businesses receive affordable loans worth UAH 4.3B since year-start

Over the first three weeks of January 2024, banks issued 787 preferential loans worth UAH 4.3 billion under the Affordable Loans 5-7-9% state program.

That’s according to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, Ukrinform reports.

"Last week, 254 entrepreneurs received loans worth UAH 1.6 billion under the Affordable Loans program. Over the first three weeks of 2024, banks have issued 787 loans worth UAH 4.3 billion to businesses. Since the launch of the program (February 2020), almost 80,000 loans worth UAH 271 billion have been issued," the statement says.

Over the first three weeks of 2024, entrepreneurs received affordable loans worth UAH 1.9 billion to replenish working capital. In addition, under the program, banks issued loans totaling UAH 1 billion to processing enterprises, UAH 880 million to businesses operating in the high-risk military zone, and UAH 544 million for investment projects.

Most of preferential loans were issued to enterprises operating in the following sectors: agriculture (49%), wholesale and retail trade (26%), and manufacturing (16%).

The largest number of loan agreements were concluded in the Lviv, Odesa, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Vinnytsia region, and Kyiv city.

As reported, the program Affordable Loans 5-7-9% is implemented by the Entrepreneurship Development Fund (EDF), whose sole participant is the Government of Ukraine represented by the Ministry of Finance, which coordinates all aspects of the Fund's activities.
