NBU expects inflation to reach 8.6% at year’s end

The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) expects that despite the expected acceleration of inflation in 2024, it will remain moderate and amount to 8.6% as of the end of the year.

NBU Governor Andriy Pyshnyy said this at a briefing on Thursday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Inflation will remain moderate, including due to the NBU's measures to ensure exchange rate stability and keep hryvnia assets attractive. It is expected to reach 8.6% at the end of the year," Pyshnyy said.

According to him, inflation will return to the target range in 2025, slowing to 5.8% as of the end of the year, and to 5% in 2026. This will be facilitated primarily by the reduction in security risks suggested in the forecast.

As reported, in 2023, inflation declined from 26% to 5%, with the economy showing growth.
