Emergency power shutdowns in place across 12 regions of Ukraine
On the evening of June 5, as consumption cap were exceeded, emergency power cuts were applied in 12 regions. Critical infrastructure facilities may be de-energized as well.
That’s according to NEC Ukrenergo, the power grid operator, Ukrinform reports.
"Due to consumption caps being exceeded, from 20:40, Ukrenergo is forced to apply emergency shutdowns in Kharkiv, Sumy, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, Volyn, Lviv, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, and Kirovohrad regions," the statement reads.
As the company noted, interruptions in power supply to critical infrastructure facilities are also possible.
Emergency shutdowns will be canceled after regions return within their consumption caps.
