Ukrainian seaports handle 45.8M tonnes of cargo since year-start

Cargo turnover at Ukrainian seaports reached 45.8 million tonnes in the five months of 2024, almost twice as much as in the same period in 2023.

The Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) announced this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

"According to the latest figures for January-May 2024, Ukrainian ports have handled 45.8 million tonnes, almost twice as much as in 2023," the post reads.

USPA continues to work on expanding the range of cargoes and resuming container and ferry traffic, the post said.

If the security situation is favorable, it is planned to reach the average pre-war level of cargo turnover.
