British PM to announce USD 309 million for Ukraine at G7 summit

At the G7 summit in Italy, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will announce the allocation of GBP 242 million (approximately USD 309 million) in aid to Ukraine.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported on the British government's website.

"At the Summit, the Prime Minister will announce up to £242 million in bilateral assistance to Ukraine, to support immediate humanitarian, energy and stabilisation needs, and lay the foundations for longer term economic and social recovery and reconstruction," the statement said.

It is noted that this contribution should demonstrate solidarity with Ukraine and "flexibility in responding to the urgent needs caused by Russian aggression".
