Ukrzaliznytsia received equipment and machinery worth more than USD 7 million under World Bank project

Ukrzaliznytsia JSC received equipment and machinery worth more than USD 7 million as part of the World Bank's Relinc project.

According to Ukrinform, this was reported by Rail.insider.

"As of June 2024, as part of the World Bank's Relinc project, Ukrzaliznytsia JSC has received machinery and equipment worth more than USD 7 million. Among the received equipment are forklifts, excavators, a truck crane, dump trucks, and various equipment and tools for repairing railway infrastructure," the statement said.

It is noted that by July, the company will receive the last pieces of equipment worth USD 1.5 million, as well as new platform cars, which will help expand its cargo delivery capabilities.

Recently, UZ received another batch of equipment as part of the project - five dump trucks, which, along with other equipment, help the company repair damage to tracks and bridges.

As reported earlier, Ukrzaliznytsia plans to purchase up to 80 modern powerful electric locomotives under the World Bank's Restoration of Critical Logistics Infrastructure and Network Connectivity (RELINC) project and with funding from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
