Lithuanian Litgrid transfers power equipment worth more than €4 million to Ukraine

Lithuanian electricity transmission system operator Litgrid will provide Ukraine with autotransformers and other equipment worth more than €4 million.

The Lithuanian broadcaster LRT reports this, according to Ukrinform.

"As part of the preparations for synchronization with the continental European grid and the modernization of the power lines and transformer substations of our country, we are dismantling various substations, line equipment, and materials that are no longer used at Litgrid's facilities, but are in good condition," explained the company's CEO, Rokas Masiulis.

Since the Lithuanian and Ukrainian power systems use the same voltage, which is different from the voltage used in many European countries, the transformers and other substation equipment that Litgrid will transmit are suitable for the Ukrainian electricity transmission system.

As reported, in April, Lithuania provided assistance to the Ukrainian energy sector, including large-sized equipment for thermal power plants.
