Zelensky holds Supreme CinC Staff meeting to discuss energy security

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky chaired a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief to discuss the issues of energy security. At the meeting, he instructed the government to develop conditions that will facilitate the installation of solar panels and batteries for citizens.

The head of the Ukrainian state said this in a post on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"I held a meeting dedicated to a single topic - energy security. We heard reports from Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Minister of Energy German Galushchenko, Chairman of Naftogaz of Ukraine Oleksiy Chernyshov, and Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk. At the Staff meeting, the government was tasked with developing conditions that would make it easier for people to install solar panels and batteries. With special tax and customs benefits, special loan programs," he wrote.

Zelensky said he also expects the government to draw up a strategy for the development of renewable energy and distributed generation at the state level. According to him, all public and administrative buildings should be equipped with energy-saving technologies.

The president also noted that active preparations for the next heating season are underway.

As Ukrinform reported, in 2024, Ukraine needs another $9.5 billion to finance the priority recovery needs: defense industry, energy sector, restoration of damaged housing, etc.
