Government allocates UAH 1B to buy school buses - Shmyhal

The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to allocate UAH 1 billion as a subvention to the Ukrainian regions for the purchase of school buses.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said this at a government meeting, Ukrinform reports, citing the Telegram channel of the head of government.

Shmyhal said that safety and quality education for Ukrainian children is the main investment that the state can make, which is why, according to him, such a policy is systemic.

"Last year, we also allocated UAH 1 billion for this procurement program. Some 434 school buses were purchased," he said.

He added that last year and this year priority is given to Ukrainian manufacturers, therefore, the Ukrainian economy receives support.
