Minister Galushchenko, Swedish ambassador discuss procurement of distributed power generation equipment

Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden to Ukraine Martin Åberg have discussed the various aspects of purchasing distributed power generation equipment for one of regions of Ukraine.

The relevant statement was made by the ministry’s press service, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The key topic of the meeting was the assistance of the Swedish side with the procurement of equipment to expand distributed power generation capacities.

In particular, the parties discussed the financial, organizational and technical aspects of purchasing and installing the equipment in one of the regions, whose energy objects had suffered significant losses following Russian attacks.

Among other things, Galushchenko and Åberg spoke about the areas of further bilateral cooperation in the energy sector. The Ukrainian minister expressed gratitude to Sweden for its support for Ukraine’s energy sector and the aid provided since the Russian full-scale invasion started, namely 172 power equipment shipments and more than EUR 25 million contributed to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.

A reminder that Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko and United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Deputy Administrator Isobel Coleman discussed strengthening the resilience of Ukraine’s energy system amid Russian attacks.
