Government approves distributed generation development strategy until 2035

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has endorsed a strategy for the development of distributed generation until 2035.

The relevant statement was made by Representative of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“The strategy for the development of distributed generation until 2035 has been approved, providing for the revision of the existing approach to the development of the energy system, namely with regard to increasing its stability and flexibility, including through the development of distributed generation capacities, which can be represented by gas turbine, gas piston, cogeneration and other plants, renewable energy facilities, energy storage systems, etc.,” Melnychuk wrote.

Additionally, the Ukrainian government approved the operational plan of measures to be implemented in 2024-2026 as part of the Strategy for the Development of Distributed Generation until 2035.

A reminder that, on July 16, 2024,  the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine endorsed draft bills No. 11258 and No. 11259 as a whole, exempting the imported component parts for mine clearance vehicles and power equipment from tax and customs duties.
