Ukraine already harvests over 22M tonnes of grain, oilseed crops

As of July 26, 2024, more than 22 million tonnes of the new-harvest crops were gathered across Ukraine.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“More than 19 million tonnes of grain crops and more than 3 million tonnes of oilseeds have already been gathered. Overall, a total of 22,324.6 million tonnes of the new-harvest crops were threshed from more than 5,871.9 thousand hectares,” the report states.

In particular, Ukrainian farmers harvested 14.7 million tonnes of wheat from 3,502 thousand hectares, 3.8 million tonnes of barley from 1,020.2 thousand hectares, and 416.3 thousand tonnes of peas from 189.8 thousand hectares.

Additionally, a total of 3 million tonnes of rapeseed was gathered from 1,086.3 thousand hectares.

So far, the leading regions have been as follows: Odesa (with 733.3 thousand hectares threshed), Dnipropetrovsk (630.7 thousand hectares), and Mykolaiv (536.5 thousand hectares).

According to the data from the ministry, farmers from the Poltava region completed the harvesting of grain and leguminous crops.

In terms of the yielding capacity, the Ivano-Frankivsk region is topping the ranking with 64 quintals per hectare.

A reminder that 73% of early grain crops had already been harvested in the Ukrainian-controlled areas of the Donetsk region. Farmers gathered 190 thousand tonnes of grain there.
