IMF Board approves Seventh Review of Ukraine's program
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) management has approved the allocation of 400 million USD to Ukraine.
According to Ukrinform, this was announced by the IMF press service.
"The IMF Board today completed the Seventh Review of the Extended Arrangement under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) for Ukraine, enabling a disbursement of about USD 0.4 billion," the statement reads.
It is noted that these funds will be used for Ukraine's budget support. "This will bring the total disbursements under the IMF-supported program to USD 10.1 billion," the press service reported.
Additionally, the IMF highlighted that Ukraine’s economy remains resilient, and performance remains strong under the EFF despite challenging condition.
“Sustained reform momentum, progress at domestic revenue mobilization, as well as full and timely disbursement of external support during the program period are necessary to safeguard macroeconomic stability, restore fiscal and debt sustainability, and improve governance," the financial institution stated.
As reported by Ukrinform, the IMF Mission held discussions with Ukraine's government in Kyiv in late February regarding the Seventh Review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program.
Over nearly two years of the EFF program, Ukraine has successfully completed six reviews — the first time in the history of cooperation with the IMF. This has enabled Ukraine to attract approximately 9.8 billion USD to the state budget, from the 15.5 billion USD allocated under the program for 2023-2027.
In 2025, 2.7 billion USD is expected to be drawn from the IMF, following four quarterly reviews.
