Deadly methane blast at Krasnolymanska coal mine: Prosecutors begin criminal investigation
A criminal case has been opened into a deadly accident at the state-run Krasnolymanska coal-mining company in the Donetsk region.
The press service of the prosecutor's office in the Donetsk region reported on Tuesday evening.
The officials said that police found that on October 27, at about 18.00 in a ventilation drift of the state-run Krasnolymanska coal mine, methane gas leak occurred during repairs. According to preliminary information, one employee of the state special emergency agency coal mine rescue service was killed in the explosion, and two others are injured and remain in critical condition.
Coal miners left the coal mine, rescuers and police are working at the scene of the accident.
Investigation into the deadly accident continues.
