Zelensky visits evacuation point in Kherson
During a working trip to Kherson region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky visited the evacuation point for residents affected by the flooding caused by the Kakhovka HPP dam explosion.
“The evacuation point is set up at a medical facility in Kherson. Here, people can undergo examination and receive appropriate treatment. The Head of State was informed that citizens are provided with food,” the press service of the Head of State reports.
The President talked to people and asked about their health conditions.
"You are going through a difficult time. We will help you and rebuild everything that needs to be restored. I thank you and wish you good health," the Head of State said.
Zelensky emphasized the importance of solving the problems faced by the hospital and expressed gratitude to the staff of the medical institution.
"I want to thank you all for the important work you do even under fire. You are heroic people," the President stressed.
In Kherson, the Head of State also visited one of the points of evacuation from the flooded territories. The President examined the equipment used for evacuation measures and observed the work of rescuers and volunteers.
As reported, at the meeting regarding the liquidation of the consequences of the emergency situation caused by the Kakhovka HPP dam destruction, Zelensky gave an order for a fair calculation of damages and the allocation of funds for compensation to residents who suffered as a result of the disaster.
