Every resident of Kryvyi Rih must reduce water consumption by 40% - official

Residents of Kryvyi Rih in Ukraine's Dnipropetrovsk region need to reduce water consumption by 40% due to the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant.

Oleksandr Vilkul, head of the city military administration, said this in a post on the Telegram messaging app, Ukrinform reports.

"Industrial enterprises have already minimized their consumption, and villages near the city, which are supplied with water by Kryvbasvodokanal, receive water four hours a day. But the main consumer of water is the city population. And it is very important for everyone to reduce water consumption by 40%. This must be done by everyone," he said.

Early on June 6, Russian troops blew up the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant, causing the flooding of parts of the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions and the critical shallowing of the Kakhovka reservoir.
