Eighteen settlements remaining flooded in Kherson region

Following Russia’s blowing up of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP), eighteen settlements are remaining flooded in the Kherson region.

The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian State Emergency Service on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“As of June 29, 2023, one settlement (one house) was remaining flooded on the right bank of the Dnipro River and 17 settlements within the temporarily occupied areas,” the report states.

Since the rescue works started, the 101 and 112 emergency lines have received 2,332 reports from citizens.

Water pumping works are underway. Over the past day, a total of 66.5 thousand tonnes of water has been pumped from 22 basements. In general, more than 439 thousand tonnes of water has been pumped from 945 houses and basements since the relevant works started.

A total of 47 tonnes of water was delivered, namely 36 tonnes of drinking water and 11 tonnes of industrial water. In general, a total of 904 tonnes of water has been delivered since the disaster occurred.

A reminder that, on the night of June 6, 2023, Russian invaders blew up the Kakhovka Dam, having caused extensive flooding in the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions.
