Russian fake: Singer Moby called for mobilization of Ukrainians all over the world
Propagandists faked post on Instagram page of well-known American musician
Russian "z blogger" Telegram channels and X social media accounts are sharing a screenshot of a post allegedly published on Instagram by the American singer Moby. The post contains an image of an alien in military uniform with a Ukrainian flag in his hand, similar to the artist's official logo, as well as the inscription "Let's MOBYlize Ukrainians around the world."
The propagandists also added to this post a screenshot with negative comments, allegedly left by outraged Ukrainians.
The post is fake. Moby has never published such a post on Instagram. It was not published in the singer's verified account. In fact, the propagandists replaced one of his original posts with a fake one. This can be seen from the number of posts on the artist's Instagram page. Their number is the same as in the fake screenshot – 8,140, but there is no fake post.
Comments from supposedly outraged Ukrainians were also fabricated. Because they could not leave them under a post that was never published.
Having analyzed the accounts of the commentators in the fake screenshot, we concluded that they are bots. The page of the account with the name luborovskaaa943 has already been deleted, whereas the page with the name _777julia777_ has been closed.
Singer Moby supports Ukraine. In 2022, he recorded a video where he stated that Russia's defeat in the war with Ukraine was inevitable.
This is not the first time that Russian propagandists have tried to use famous people in the West to create fakes about Ukraine. Earlier, they spread a fake that the actor Danny Trejo was allegedly asked for a kickback for supporting Ukraine.
