The Media Initiative for Human Rights collected information on places of detention of Ukrainians in Belarus and Russia, as well as in the prisons of Luhansk, Donetsk, their environs and the occupied Crimea.
By detaining Ukrainians, Russia is trying to reduce resistance to the occupation and replenish the "exchange fund".
Such actions are qualified by Ukrainian law enforcement as illegal imprisonment or kidnapping.
They are also war crimes.
