Ukraine’s UN Security Council membership is global response to Russia's aggression – Yatsenyuk

The fact that Ukraine has been elected as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council is the world's response to Russian aggression.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk posted this on Facebook.

"International support for the election of Ukraine to the United Nations Security Council shows solidarity and confidence in our country. Moreover, it is a very expressive global response to Russian aggression," the PM stressed.

According to Yatsenyuk, "Ukraine should take honest and clear position at the Security Council in support of the fundamental norms governing international relations and, most importantly, the values of democracy, human rights and dignity, which must be decisive for our domestic and foreign policy."

As a reminder, October 15, the UN General Assembly voted to elect Ukraine as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council of the United Nations for 2016-2017.
