International Forum on Energy Security will take place in Monaco in June
International Forum on Energy Security will take place in Monaco in June. It will coincide in time with the fifth Electric Marathon on European roads that will start in Ukraine and come to the finish line in Monaco.
“For the second year in a row, the Marathon takes off in Ukraine, this time in Lviv, and for the first time it will be held within a large pan-European environmental initiative on Energy Security for the Future, founded by an international Energy Group Burisma that is investing in long-term research and development of clean energy and contributes to the development of geothermal energy in Europe, and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation,” Juri Tamm, the Honorary Consul of Monaco in Estonia and the President of the Electric Marathon, said.
The fifth Electric Marathon on European roads will start in Ukraine and come to the finish line in Monaco. Marathon organizers agreed to set a starting point in Ukraine. They wanted to show that Ukraine and Europe are inseparable. It is also symbolic that the Ukrainian company co-founded an International Forum on Energy Security to promote alternative energy sources in Europe.
On June 2, 2016, the organizers are holding their very first Forum, where a number of reputable politicians and public figures are listed among spokespeople there, including HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, Aleksander Kwaśniewski, Joschka Fischer, Hunter Biden (the U.S. Vice President’s son, an independent director at Burisma and a chairman of the USA World Food Program), Ilkka Kanerva (the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the OSCE) and other prominent European political figures and local politicians. Around 150 guests are confirmed to attend. These people actively advocate for the new movement in Europe helping to make our European home better and “cleaner”.
The goal for organizing the Marathon now is not just about demonstrating future car technologies, rather about engaging people (auto-enthusiasts, politicians, public figures, etc.) into the global transition process to alternative and renewable energy sources. Also, according to Juri Tamm, the Marathon is an important element of the educational process, which provides average citizens with information about possibilities of new and clean technologies.
