Canada not to lift anti-Russian sanctions until Minsk agreements are implemented

Canada will not lift the anti-Russian sanctions until the Kremlin starts to implement the Minsk agreements.

This was stated by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada Chrystia Freeland, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“We will continue to put pressure on Russia, including through the existing sanctions, until the Russian Federation completely fulfills the commitments undertaken in accordance with the Minsk agreements and uses its influence on separatists to force them to fulfill their obligations,” Freeland said.

According to her, the ultimate goal of the Canadian support for Ukraine is to increase the country’s security, stability and prosperity
