Ukraine, Georgia sign declaration on establishment of strategic partnership

Ukraine and Georgia have signed a declaration on the establishment of strategic partnership, which, in particular, provides for mutual support for sovereignty and territorial integrity.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said this at a press conference following the meeting with President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili in Tbilisi today, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Declaration on the establishment of strategic partnership is the highest form of trust between the governments and the highest form of trust between our peoples. The strategic partnership is also caused by common challenges and common threats. To overcome these threats we should be strong and united," he said.

According to Poroshenko, this strategic partnership provides for "a system of institutions and mechanisms for the constant coordination of our actions, including in the defense and security sectors."

Along with this, the agreement on cooperation between Ukraine and Georgia in the field of education was signed in Tbilisi.
