U.S. House of Representatives passes Crimea Annexation Non-recognition Act

The U.S. House of Representatives has passed the Crimea Annexation Non-recognition Act by an overwhelming majority.

"The House of Representatives of the U.S. Congress passed a draft law that determines the U.S. policy of non-recognition of the sovereignty of the Russian Federation over Crimea, its airspace, or its territorial waters," the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States posted on Facebook.

The Act was supported by 427 legislators (out of a total number of 435 members with the voting rights).

As noted, the document, inter alia, states that “no federal department or agency may take any action or extend any assistance that recognizes or implies recognition of the de jure or de facto sovereignty of the Russian Federation over Crimea.”
