Poroshenko presents awards to Tusk and Juncker
President Petro Poroshenko has presented Ukraine's state award, the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, to European Council President Donald Tusk.
The award ceremony took place in Brussels on Monday, May 13, according to the Facebook page of the head of state.
"I'm proud of the opportunity to give a great friend of Ukraine, President of the European Council Donald Tusk, a top state award - the Order of Yaroslav the Wise. Thank you very much, Mr. President, for the deep understanding and reliable support of Ukraine and Ukrainians on our joint path to returning to a single family of European peoples and defending our sovereignty and territorial integrity," Poroshenko said.
In addition, Poroshenko presented the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise to European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.
"I have decided to present a top state award of Ukraine for foreign citizens – the Order of Yaroslav the Wise – to European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker," Poroshenko said.
Poroshenko is on a working visit to Brussels on May 13-14, where he will take part in events marking the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership program.
