Ukraine, Mexico develop action plan for concluding agreement on visa-free regime

Ukraine and Mexico have developed a plan of action for concluding a bilateral agreement on simplifying and abolishing visa requirements for citizens of both countries.

The Consular Service Department of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine reported this on Facebook on the results of the first Ukrainian-Mexican consultations in the field of consular affairs.

"The Ukrainian and Mexican delegations paid particular attention to the issue of mutual cancellation of visa requirements for citizens of Ukraine and Mexico … The parties developed a plan of action necessary for concluding a special legal instrument - the bilateral agreement on the simplification and abolition of visa requirements for all citizens of Ukraine and Mexico," the report says.

In addition, the parties analyzed the state and prospects of cooperation in the migration and visa sectors, discussed issues of protecting the rights and interests of citizens and legal entities of Ukraine in the United Mexican States, and exchanged positive experiences and major achievements of the consular services of Ukraine and Mexico.

The Ukrainian delegation was headed by Director of the Consular Service Department of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine Serhiy Pohoreltsev. The Mexican delegation was represented by Director General of the Consular Service Department of the Foreign Ministry of Mexico Olga Beatriz García Guillén, who will be soon appointed ambassador of Mexico to Ukraine.
