Ukraine in OSCE calls on Russia to open Zolote checkpoint in Donbas
Russia must start fulfilling its obligations under the Minsk agreements, including the opening of the Zolote checkpoint in Luhansk region.
Ukraine's Permanent Representative to International Organizations in Vienna Yevhen Tsymbaliuk stated this during a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council in Vienna on July 4, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
“It’s time for Russia to stop making excuses and finally start fulfilling its obligations. They include, in particular, the opening of the Zolote checkpoint, which will significantly reduce queues at the Stanytsia Luhanska checkpoint,” he said.
In addition, the Russian side has to ensure the modernization of infrastructure of the existing checkpoints in order to increase their capacity, as it was done by the Ukrainian authorities and confirmed by the OSCE SMM at the Hnutove and Mayorske checkpoints.
