Ukraine to increase military cooperation with Finland - Zelensky

Ukraine and Finland have agreed to increase military cooperation and develop the dialogue between the two countries' defense agencies, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.

He said this at a press conference following a meeting with Finnish President Sauli Niinisto in Kyiv on Thursday, the press service of the head of the Ukrainian state said.

"I informed the Finnish president about the security situation in Donbas. We exchanged views on further steps to end the war. It is important that our partners take a firm stance on keeping in place the sanctions regime against the Russian Federation until the full restoration of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity," Zelensky said.

In addition, Zelensky thanked Finland for supporting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, for supporting the humanitarian mine clearance process in Donbas, as well as for ensuring the activities of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission.
