Prystaiko says Russian-backed separatists will not become Ukrainian MPs

The Cabinet of Ministers opposes granting fighters of self-proclaimed republics in Donbas the right to be elected to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko has said.

"For example, those who were shooting at our people will not return [...] and will not sit next to the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada. This is also a political 'red line.' And there are a lot of such 'red lines' within which a political process, a political discussion is ongoing," he said on the Freedom of Speech show on the ICTV channel on Monday, October 7.

Prystaiko also added that the security of the Ukrainian people, the return of territories, the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine are priorities for the Ukrainian authorities.
