Zelensky plans to visit Lithuania in November

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky plans to pay an official visit to Lithuania in November 2019, the press service of the head of state has reported.

This was discussed during a meeting of Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva with Chief Foreign Policy Advisor to the President of Lithuania Asta Skaisgirytė on Thursday, October 31.

"Special attention was paid to the content of the official visit of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to the Republic of Lithuania at the invitation of President Gitanas Nausėda scheduled for November 2019 and the holding of a regular meeting of the Council of Presidents of Ukraine and Lithuania," the statement reads.

The interlocutors commended the high dynamics of the bilateral political dialogue and noted the common willingness to further develop the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Lithuania.

In turn, Skaisgirytė confirmed Lithuania's resolute support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity and stressed the importance of maintaining the EU sanctions pressure against the Russian Federation.

In addition, Zhovkva expressed gratitude for the continued political support provided by official Vilnius to our country, in particular within the EU and NATO, as well as the practical assistance, first of all, the organization of rehabilitation of Ukrainian soldiers in medical institutions of Lithuania.
