Normandy format meeting to help end war in Donbas – Razumkov
Verkhovna Rada Speaker Dmytro Razumkov believes that today's meeting in the Normandy format will allow the president to end the war in Donbas and return the borders of Ukraine to those of 2013.
He stated this at a press conference in Zhytomyr on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"I hope that the Normandy Four summit will enable the president to end the war, stop shelling and gradually return the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. This is only part of the tasks that the president and the Ukrainian authorities have set themselves to ensure the return of Ukrainian borders to those of 2013," Razumkov said.
In his opinion, any forecasts regarding the results of the meeting are incorrect. "I’d refrain from making any comments. I don’t like to predict in such delicate issues," Razumkov added.
The leaders of the Normandy Four countries – Ukraine, France, Germany and the Russian Federation – will meet in Paris today, December 9.
