EU ambassador officially informs Ukrainian Foreign Ministry of Britain's exit from EU
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko received a diplomatic note from Ambassador of the EU, Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine Matti Maasikas of the UK's withdrawal from the European Union.
"Met EU Ambassador Matti Maasikas to discuss Brexit. Received EU diplomatic note. No geopolitical changes for Ukraine. EU and Ukraine will continue developing wide common agenda with London," Prystaiko posted on Twitter.
The minister added that the parties also touched upon the progress of Minsk process.
As reported, the UK stopped being a member of the European Union (EU) after 23:00 GMT on January 31, 2020.
Earlier, British Ambassador to Ukraine Melinda Simmons said in a video address that the United Kingdom will remain good friend and strong partner of Ukraine after the country leaves the European Union as a result of Brexit.
“The UK will be just as committed to Ukraine’s territorial integrity and to its sovereignty and will continue to work a lot to achieve strong economic growth, strong independent country,” she noted.
