Government appoints Kukhta as acting economy minister

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a decision to appoint Pavlo Kukhta as acting minister for development of economy, trade and agriculture.

"Today under the government’s decision, I have been appointed as acting minister for development of economy, trade and agriculture of Ukraine. It is important for our team that the changes and reforms, which we have managed to launch over the past six months of work (including the land market, the launch of privatization, the reform of state-owned enterprises, the creation of tools for attracting investment etc), not to disappear but be continued for the benefit of the people of Ukraine. For our part, we will make every effort to ensure that the process of changing the government not to affect the coordination and quality of the ministry’s work and be unnoticed to our citizens, and all the achievements be transferred to the successors,” Kukhta wrote on his Facebook page.

As Ukrinform reported, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine at an extraordinary meeting on March 4 approved the new Cabinet of Ministers led by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

Minister for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture Tymofiy Mylovanov refused from the position in the new Cabinet because as he said he had already done everything he could.
