FM Kuleba: OSCE should launch remote monitoring in occupied Crimea

Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba believes that the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine should launch remote monitoring of the situation in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

"Today I’ve also stressed that the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine has a mandate [which covers] the entire territory of our country, and the issue of launching remote monitoring of the situation in Crimea is already ‘overripen’. The OSCE SMM has the capacity to launch such monitoring and [can] carry out a remote analysis of the situation in the occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol," Kuleba said at a joint press conference with OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Sweden's Minister for Foreign Affairs Ann Linde, in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The foreign minister of Ukraine said that he had informed his Swedish counterpart about the development of the Crimean Platform initiative and confirmed invitation to join it.

As reported, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Sweden's Minister for Foreign Affairs Ann Linde makes a two-day working visit to Kyiv.
