Ukraine and France have discussed topical issues in the consular sphere related to the protection of citizens of both countries abroad.
The Consular Service of the Embassy of Ukraine in France wrote about this on its Facebook page, Ukrinform reports.
“On June 16, the first Ukrainian-French consular consultations were held at the level of Deputy Heads of Consular Services of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Roman Nedilsky and the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Sylvain Riquier,” reads the report.
During the consultations, the parties discussed a wide range of issues in the consular sphere that are important for the communities of Ukraine and France abroad: protection of citizens, overcoming crisis, improving the legal framework of bilateral relations.
"Among the key elements of the talks was to determine further algorithms for concluding an agreement on mutual recognition and exchange of driver's licenses, as well as the introduction of visa-free travel for Ukrainian citizens to overseas departments and territories of France," reads the report.
